The Gila County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 call on February 3, 2018 at 6:22 p.m. at a home on Pinal View Drive in Globe, Arizona. The victim reported that an unknown male subject had entered her residence and a struggle over a handgun ensued. During the struggle, the victim sustained a single gunshot wound to her lower extremities.
The victim reported to detectives that she retrieved a handgun and confronted one unknown male subject, who was attempting to burglarize her residence. In a struggle with the assailant over the gun she sustained the gunshot wound. The victim was treated on scene and later flown to Chandler where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect in this investigation is still unknown however the updated description of the suspect describes him as a Caucasian male with about three days of facial hair growth, standing about 5’8” and last seen wearing a tan jacket and blue jeans. The handgun that was reportedly used in the assault was recovered on scene and is being held as evidence. This is an active investigation and further information may be released as it becomes available.
