Globe – June 29th, 2017 The Globe Police Department in cooperation with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety will be conducting DUI Enforcement activities for Fourth of July weekend. The Globe Police Department will conduct this event to focus on both drug and alcohol impaired drivers in the hope of reducing the impact of impaired driving.
This enforcement detail will conduct high-contact traffic enforcement targeting impaired drivers with zero tolerance regarding alcohol violations. Patrol officers will focus on identifying drug and alcohol impaired drivers to include juveniles, young adults and older adults, before they get involved in a collision. The cost of DUI and impaired drivers to communities is extremely high in terms of money, costs of criminal prosecutions, incarceration costs and most of all the tragic loss of human life.
