Kohlbeck Community Hero Award to be presented
The Cobre Valley Youth Club invites everyone to the 2017 Copper & Cowboys: A Western Holiday Gala on Dec. 8 at the Bullion Plaza gymnsaium. We will be joined, for the first time in Club history, by several other local clubs known for their service to youth. Those include Globe and Miami Rotary Clubs, the Lions Club and the Elks Club.
The event features a steak dinner with all of the trimmings catered by Chef Jordan Johnson, followed by a live auction, on Friday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. Join us as we lay out our vision of the future for the Youth Club and a new Teen Center. The recipient of the Kohlbeck Community Hero Award will also be recognized.
Individual tickets are $35 a person. Sponsorships range from $400 to $6,000. Sponsor benefits include tickets, event recognition and — depending on sponsor level — Web site, social media and other advertising.

Aimee Staten has worn several hats over the last few years, but she recently put on one of her more familiar caps after four years of working in nonprofits: That of a journalist. She has 14 years of experience in the news business as a reporter with eight of those years as the managing editor of the Eastern Arizona Courier.
