2022 Globe Halloween Block Party Wrap & Thank-you List

GLOBE_ The Globe Downtown Association would like to thank the Globe-Miami-San-Carlos community for yet another successful “Globe Historic Downtown Halloween Trick-or-Treat Block Party” event.  Monday, October 31st, was an amazing site to see.  Countless numbers of people in costumes with smiles (well, at least the ones we could see through the blow-up dino & Sponge Bob costumes).  Broad Street was packed from Yuma to Sycamore streets and spilling over.  This was the first back-to-normal annual Halloween community give-back free trick-or-treating event, and just an amazing site to see.  Thank you to the countless volunteers, candy giver stations, candy donors, way-finders, safety and public works personnel, kiddos haunted house jail helpers and so many more.  From our DJ on Oak, Derryl Meeks to our 1910 Jail free haunted house for the kiddos to the interactive candy station at Western Reprographics, there was fun at every block.  The local restaurants and food truck vendors were busy as can be and we could not be more thankful for the fun and safe evening we all shared.

We are still wrapping up the virtual Halloween contests with voting via hashtags, #globehalloween2022 and #globehalloween22.  The winners will be announced online this week.  The community contests included: Costume, Pumpkin Carving/Decorating, Candy Station Decoration, and Storefront Decoration.  Thank you to our amazing 2022 event photographer, Yevette Vargas of Ms. Yevette’s Photography.  These photos were free and put online for voting, but show here some love and reach out for print and purchase for only $10/ea from her FB page.  Additional thankfulness to Globe Miami Times for your sponsorship of the costume contest.

A roaring applause is in order for the following candy gift stations who spend on average over a whopping $500/each in candy, prizes and toys.  To start this event we ask each giver station to be prepared with at minimum 2500 pieces of candy; then we fill in as needed for the second half of the event from the donations that came in before the event.  Our on-site candy refill angels (this year Charlene Giles from Tail Waggers teamed up with Ginger Madrid from the City of Globe) drive from station to station replenishing the candy supply.

This year many of our stations planned for the 4000 piece mark and had nothing left but empty bags to show for it at the end; just WOW!  Please give everyone a warm thank you when you see them!

But before we list all of the candy-station angels, we want to take a moment to thank all of our media partners.  We cannot do this without all of you.  From all of the shares on social media, to voice-overs on the radio and helping to get the word out in print, applause to you!  Not in any particular order: Copper Country News; Globe Miami Times; The Arizona Silverbelt; KQSS Gila 101.9 Big John, Ted Lake, John Qube and Rollye James; Countless photographers & social media outlets, and more.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts; we are a community most blessed!
