Gila County- The 6th Annual Globe-Miami STEMFest is right around the corner on Saturday, April 22 from 10-2. Sponsored by the Gila County Superintendent’s Office, STEMFest is a free family event featuring hands-on activities that celebrate science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
For the first time ever, STEMFest will be held at Gila Community College’s beautiful Globe campus along with the school’s 10th annual Arbor Day festivities. Come see new and returning favorite exhibits such as painting pendulums, 3-D printing, K-9 demos, kinetic energy activities, and an interactive museum. Get educated about copper smelting and water conservation. Learn more about GCC programs like Dental, Cosmetology, English, and Biology. The Pinal Mountain Foundation for Higher Education will be selling food, with all proceeds going to scholarships at Gila Community College.
The day will kick off with the college’s fourth annual Ruin to Ruin 5K run. Registration for the run is at 7 am and the run starts at 8 am. Join faculty, community partners, and others at 11 am for the dedication of the Allied Healthcare Building to former Gila County Supervisor Mike Pastor.
