Running the rocks: Rotary hosts 19th annual Round Mountain Sunrise Challenge

The Globe Rotary Club hosted its 19th annual Round Mountain Sunrise Challenge on Saturday, June 8, bringing boulder bouncers from as far away as Safford to Globe for the annual race that featured a 5K race and a 2-mile walk.

The winners were as follows:

  • Overall winner: Gary Giauque, 32.28.58
  • Overall female: Melody Thomas, 46.12.89
  • Youngest: Johana Alvarez, age 9, 49.50.24
  • Most mature: Robb Baron, 58.15.83
  • Male, 65 and over: Larry Hansen, 50.12.77
  • Female, 51-65: Peggy Bullis, 54.36.99
  • Male, 51-65: Bill Nowak, 33.15.42
  • Female, 36-50: Adrea Ricke, 1.14.33.70
  • Male, 36-50: Gary Giauque, 32.28.58
  • Female, 21-35: Melody Thomas, 46.12.89
  • Male, 21-35: Aaron Gourdin, 36.12.39
  • Male, 12-20: Tayshaun Nosie, 37.05.17

Next year, Rotary will host its 20th annual race on Saturday, June 6, 2020. Details will be announced soon.
