Arizona Eastern Depot

Built: 1916

The depot was built in 1916 to house the offices of Arizona Eastern executives and meet the demands of expanding passenger travel.

Designed by the architectural firm of Trost & Trost, the building featured fired red brick, concrete embellishments and elaborate cornices and multi-paned windows.

The railroad first came to globe in 1898 and opened the way for moving building materials, coal, grain and other necessities. Old Dominion Mine soon replaced the slow mule-team wagons with the much faster trains which could haul copper out and supplies in.
