Big Snow, Big Season Record Snowfall, Extended Season

Arizona Snowbowl March 13, 2019

Flagstaff, Ariz. — Resort officials at Arizona Snowbowl announced the resort is extending its season due to the incredible snowfall its experienced this season. While aiming to fulfill its goal to be “first to open, last to close in Arizona,” Snowbowl plans to stay open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday through Sunday in April.

With two months left in the season, Snowbowl is already a foot and a half over it’s annual average snowfall of 260 inches, with a 88” base and boasting 294” of snowfall. With the snow still coming (Open Snow forecasts another two feet through Wednesday), guests and employees alike are relishing that winter has returned in full force this year.

While Snowbowl does not release skier visit data, JR Murray, General Manager, says that Snowbowl is enjoying double-digit growth over last year.

“We will evaluate the conditions after Easter,” said Murray, “but will attempt to ski to Cinco de Mayo if we can!” An official closing date has not been announced.
