PHOENIX, Ariz. (March 20, 2019): More than 715 501c3 nonprofit organizations across the state, from small hyper-local volunteer-run agencies to major organizations with widespread presence, have registered and been vetted for participation in Arizona Gives Day, a 24-hour online fund-raising event benefiting Arizona charities.
Arizona Gives Day is an annual, statewide day of giving that invites Arizonans to support their favorite causes or find charities that match their personal beliefs and interests.
Hosted by the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits and Arizona Grantmakers Forum, and presented by FirstBank, Arizona Gives Day 2018 raised more than $3.2 million for nonprofit organizations statewide, and more than $13.4 million since its inception. Matson Money is a Platinum Sponsor.
“Arizona Gives Day is an opportunity to build awareness of the good work these nonprofits do ‘every day across the state and to expand their reach to potential new donors and even volunteers,” said Kristen Merrifield, Chief Executive Officer at the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits. “The event creates an even playing field for all nonprofits, many that don’t have the ability, the staff or the bandwidth to take on a similar fund-raising challenge.”
Donations can be scheduled in advance and submitted online at www.azgives.org during the 24-hour window on Tuesday, April 3.
Businesses participate by creating Employee Giving Landing Pages or Fundraising Pages. An Employee Giving Landing Page is company specific to direct employees to its philanthropic message, encouraging donations on Arizona Gives Day to any participating organization.
“The success of Arizona Gives Day is a great testament to the nonprofits throughout the State and the generosity of Arizona residents,” said Bryce Lloyd, Phoenix Market President of FirstBank. “To be part of the growth of this online giving moment since inception has been extremely rewarding to witness, not only because we’re sponsors, but because we’re proud Arizonans, too.”
