Chamber announces details of this years’ Home Tour

GLOBE-

Each stop on this year’s Historic Home and Building Tour offers a glimpse back to Territorial and early day history of Globe and Arizona. The 33rd Historic Home and Building Tour is in Globe April 8-9 with tours departing from the train depot downtown from 9 am to 3 pm both days. Tickets are $15 a person or $10 for ages 12 and under.

The Globe Historic Downtown program is putting on a walking tour of the Globe cemetery tour and the chamber is helping with transport. Cemetery tours leave from the train depot between 6:30 and 8 pm. Admission to the Cemetery Tour alone is $15 a person. Pair the home tour this year with the Cemetery Tour Saturday and buy a combination ticket for only $25, a savings of $5 over individual tickets.

At 11 am on both Saturday and Sunday, Globe resident Ginny Sonne will lead a walking tour of the neighborhoods between downtown and the High Street area. There is an elevation gain of some 300 feet, but the information and the views are worth the efforts. Anyone interested should meet at the freight depot next to the train depot by 10:45 am.

There are several homes that are new to the tour this year, as well as the perennial favorite Noftsger Hill Inn, which has not been a stop since 2010. Visitors to the home tour will board vehicles at the train depot and be taken to each stop where a host will talk about history and architecture of the stop.

Tours for the home tour leave the train depot in downtown Globe between 9 am and 3 pm both days. Visitors are driven to each stop where they may spend as much time as they like exploring. Also included is the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts and the quilt show.
