The Tigers put on a dominant performance in the rivalry for the copper kettle on September 10 at Harbison Field in Globe, running away with a lopsided win over Miami Vandals to keep the Copper Kettle. Final score 48 - 0.
The victory moves Globe to 2-2 on the season and drops the Vandals to 1-3.
The rivalry goes back nearly a century dating back to 1923, and the Copper Kettle itself has been on the line since 1947. Globe now leads the all-time series with 57 wins, but the Kettle has changed hands plenty of times along the way — it spent six of the last seven years in Vandal territory before last year's reclaim, and the Vandals have had their own run of dominance, including an unprecedented streak of four straight Copper Kettle wins in years past.
