The Globe Downtown Association raises nearly $39,000

Funds to benefit Globe’s historic downtown in flood relief campaign

Posted

The Globe Downtown Association has put together a GoFundMe account to be used for flood relief recovery in the Globe Historic Downtown business district.

The funds raised are currently at $21,412, and will be granted to property owners and businesses in need from flood damage within the Globe Historic District.

The Train Depot fund has also received and pledged an additional $2,500 from private citizens as well. The Globe Downtown Association will host a specific Train Depot Fundraiser within the next few months.

In addition, last Tuesday, the Gila County Board of Supervisors pledged $5,000 each from their contingency funds to go toward Globe Downtown Association’s fundraising campaign. This economic development pledge is for the purpose of aiding in the repair of the Train Depot facility as well as properties and businesses in the historic district, all having sustained significant damage as a result of the devastating flooding activity on September 26.

The Globe Association Board of Directors will have its first funding distribution meeting on Monday, October 27, 2025.

From Molly Cornwell, Manager, Globe Downtown Association

Our community of Globe, Arizona, population approximately 7,000, was hit with a devastating flood Friday night, September 26, 2025. The flood ripped through our historic district, causing unprecedented amounts of rain in under two hours. This tight-knit community is currently in the process of search and recovery, towing cars, digging out mud from businesses and checking on neighbors all at the same time. Our city and Gila County have officially been declared state of emergency status. Globe is a historic mining town situated about an hour and a half from Phoenix and Tucson, about equally in the middle.

We at the Globe Downtown Association 501C6 nonprofit are putting this GoFundMe together to help throughout our Globe Historic Downtown business district. All funds received through this campaign will be distributed throughout our district to those property owners and businesses in need. We have additional charities that we are working with that are receiving physical items such as clothes and household items that we would be happy to connect you with if you choose to donate that way. The pictures we listed are just a sampling of the devastation to our museum, restaurants and businesses. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all donations received, and please continue with us in prayer as we continue to search for our loved ones. We are a community that is resilient and look forward to coming back better than ever. Thank you for all of the love.
