Resolution Copper has committed $1 million to the Globe-Miami community for flood relief:
• $650,000 for businesses
• $300,000 for residential assistance
• $50,000 for flood mitigation planning
The donation will go to the United Fund of Globe-Miami, to be distributed through the residential flood relief program with The Salvation Army, and for businesses, the program will be facilitated by Local First Arizona.
Applications for business assistance are expected to go live this week. A detailed update will be shared during the Globe City Council meeting tomorrow night.
Resolution Copper General Manager Vicky Peacey said:
“Our thoughts are with our friends and neighbors in Globe and Miami who these devastating floods have impacted. The road to recovery will be long, and we’re committed to standing alongside the community every step of the way.”
Resolution Copper Principal for Economic Development and Social Investment Bryan Seppala added:
“I couldn’t be more grateful to work for a company that puts community first, and within hours of the floods, mobilized our local contractors to support with cleanup. Our Community and Social Performance team has been out in the community since day one, delivering supplies, coordinating volunteers, mucking out businesses, and being a shoulder to lean on. This announcement of the Rio Tinto Disaster Relief Fund, allowing Resolution Copper to provide $1 million to the United Fund of Globe-Miami, will allow us to continue to support small businesses and residents as they rebuild.”
United Fund of Globe-Miami expresses deep appreciation for Resolution Copper’s commitment, noting that the partnership ensures immediate and transparent support for those affected.
“We are honored to help distribute these funds quickly and responsibly to support families and businesses as they rebuild,” said Susan Guerrero, Community Outreach Manager for United Fund of Globe-Miami. “This gift is an incredible show of trust and solidarity with our community.”
