GILA COUNTY, Ariz. — August 31, 2026 — Gila Community College is now accepting applications for its Spring 2027 Nursing Program, giving aspiring nurses in Gila County and surrounding communities an opportunity to begin working toward a rewarding career in healthcare close to home.

Applications are being accepted through October 1, 2026, with students admitted to the upcoming cohort beginning classes in January 2027.

Unlike many nursing programs where prospective students may face lengthy waiting lists, Gila Community College currently has no waiting list for its nursing program. The program is also accredited, providing students with a high-quality educational pathway designed to prepare them for professional nursing practice.

“Healthcare continues to be one of the most important workforce needs in our communities, and we want students to know they don't have to leave Gila County or spend years waiting for an opportunity to pursue a nursing degree,” said Alayna Barr - GCC Program Administrator. “GCC is committed to providing an accessible, high-quality nursing education that prepares our students to serve patients, families and communities throughout our region.”

Prospective students are encouraged to meet with a GCC nursing advisor as soon as possible to make sure they are on track to complete the application process before the October 1 deadline.

Students interested in attending the Gila Pueblo Campus can contact Megan Martinez, Assistant Nursing Program Administrator, at megan.martinez@gilacc.org or 928-425-8481.
