Mark your calendar for Sept. 11 and 25 and here’s welcome news for Globe, Miami and San Carlos residents in need of medical care for dogs and cats:
Desert Cross Veterinary Hospital – Sept 11 & 25
Desert Cross Veterinary Hospital’s mobile vet clinic visits Globe on the second and fourth Thursday every month, parking for the day at JR’s Feed and Tack, at the junction of Golden Hills and Russell Road.
Desert Cross Veterinary Hospital is based in Thatcher--their mobile clinic offers the full range of vaccines and exams, and even spay/neuter surgery can be arranged.
Appointments are required, call Desert Cross staff to schedule an appointment 928-348-0026.
PetVet Mobile Clinic – Sept 14, 2:30–4pm
Rabies vaccine, the preventative rattlesnake venom vaccine, nail-clipping and microchipping and more are also available Sept. 14, Sunday, when the PetVet mobile clinic visits the Tractor Supply store in Miami from 2:30-4 p.m. (returning once-a-month Oct. 12 and Nov. 9).
Gila County Animal Care & Control reminds dog owners that an up-to-date rabies vaccine is required for your dog to be licensed.
That annual Gila County dog license is also required — by law. A license is also essential to prove ownership if your stray dog ends up at the shelter.
Are your pets microchipped? If they aren’t, consider this: only 22-percent of lost dogs without a microchip get reunited with the anxious owners who love them.
Snakebite vaccine for dogs helps them survive being bitten by a rattler; pre-treatment also reduces a pet’s pain and suffering--and dramatically reduces the overall cost of treatment if bitten, too.
No appointments are needed but call PetVet Mobile Clinic staff 800-427-7973 if you have questions about specific services.
