Retired Globe Fire Chief Al Gameros has taken out papers to run for Mayor of Globe. Gameros told Globe Miami Times that he is currently in the process of gathering signatures. His candidacy will not be official until he reaches the required 120 signatures, a number he hopes to exceed.
Gameros retired from the Globe Fire Department in January with 29 years of service, 18 of those as chief. He also served as Globe’s Interim City Manager a number of times during his tenure as chief.
If you would like to sign to support Gameros’ run for mayor, his cell is 928-200-2626. You must be a Globe resident who is registered to vote to sign.
