Council recognized Police Commander AJ Castaneda for 30 years of service to the City of Globe.
Police Chief Dale Walters praised Commander Castaneda's leadership, mentoring and commitment to Globe.
Walters described Castaneda as someone officers seek out for guidance and reassurance. He also praised Castaneda for responding to major emergencies even when he was off duty.
Castaneda “has been directly involved in virtually every significant incident that this city has experienced,” Chief Walters said.
“Globe has been good to me and I hope that I've served you guys well,” Castaneda said.
Council also recognized Michelle Yerkovich, the city's code enforcement specialist, for 10 years of service.
