Brown's Trail begins at Lone Pine Trailhead, in the higher elevations of the Four Peaks Wilderness. The trail gently climbs through white and Emory oak and manzanita until it reaches a steep drainage near the end of the trail. This o.2 mile last stretch leads to the top of Brown's Peak.
Rated Moderate to Difficult, this last stretch of the trail is the most challenging.
Brown's Trail #13 involves a steep draining for the last leg of the hike. Photo by Natalie RobbThis section is dangerous and requires scrambling and climbing up steep rock walls.
A rope is recommended for safety.
From the top of Brown's Peak, 360-degree views are spectacular, and in winter hundreds of thousands of ladybugs are often found here.
"Hiking is the answer. Who cares what the question is"
