Cherries, grapes, celery, cucumbers, jalapenos, potatoes, tomatoes and carrots filled the produce boxes that Gila County Public Health & Community Services staff and volunteers loaded into waiting vehicles last month — plus a surprise bonus: two flats of grapes and golden cherries! That’s a lot of fresh, healthy food for just $16. Pre-order yours today for pickup Saturday, Sept. 6, and staff will load it into your car. Boxes vary monthly but always feature a colorful mix; sometimes bread, too. Pre-order at tinyurl. com/veggiesandfruitsept6 or gilacountyaz.gov. Limited cash-and- carry boxes available 9:30 a.m. at Tractor Supply.
