Gila County Public Works is informing residents that, effective after June 25, Dollar Dump Days at the Russell Gulch Landfill will be temporarily suspended due to ongoing construction activities.
While the landfill will remain open and continue normal operations during construction, Saturday Dollar Dump Days will be paused to help reduce traffic volume and ensure the safety of customers, employees and contractors working on-site.
Construction is underway on a new landfill cell, an important improvement that will help meet the county’s future solid waste disposal needs.
We anticipate reopening Saturday Dollar Dump Days in November, once construction is complete and the new cell operational. We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding as we complete these important improvements. Updates on the reopening of Saturday Dollar Dump Days will be provided as construction progresses.

Normal operating hours are 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The landfill is closed on Sundays as well as select holidays.
