Baseball is in the air, Round Mountain Park is blanketed in purple flowers, and poppies are strutting their stuff on every hillside and sidewalk crack. It must be spring.
We are breaking down who to watch this year during Arizona Spring Training and posting our first-ever reader poll to find out who your favorites are — besides the Arizona Diamondbacks, of course. Sure, you always have to root for the hometown, but there are some great backstories on the other teams that might deserve attention. You’ll find our article and reader poll online.
And don’t forget to mark your calendar for the end of April, when we will host the Arizona Territorial Baseball League final tournament in Globe for the Old Dominion Cup on April 25 and 26.
Closer to home, we have a new 3.5-mile trail opening up in the Pinals, thanks to the Tonto Gravity Riders. The flood damage to the trails at Round Mountain Park have been fully repaired, thanks to Love Where You Live, the City of Globe and lots of volunteers.
It’s a good time to get outdoors and enjoy this weather with friends and family.
