This year offers several local Valentine’s Day celebrations suited for music lovers and dancers around Globe-Miami. From classic country and crowd-pleasing covers to hometown favorites, three live bands will headline dinner and dance events that combine good food, live music and an open dance floor. 

Moonshine Mafia plays second annual Sweetheart Dinner & Dance on Feb. 7

What: Semicasual dance; steak dinner; plus live auction and raffle

Moonshine Mafia returns to play music for this year’s Sweetheart Dinner & Dance the weekend before Valentine’s Day. The five-piece country band based out of Payson has been playing for the last 15 years and has shared the stage with names Aaron Tippin and Stoney Larue. You’ve likely seen them playing at the Gila County Fair or rodeo. Expect to hear covers of ‘80s and ‘90s country music, classics from the likes of George Strait, Clint Black, Garth Brooks plus Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard.

Transition plays Valentine’s Dinner & Dance at the Elks on Feb. 13

What: Dance; dinner with beef or pork or brisket half rack, asparagus, baked potato and mixed berry cobbler; plus silent auctions, raffles and door prizes

The five-piece cover band Transition will play at the Elk’s Lodge Valentine’s Dinner & Dance. They're known for their wide-ranging repertoire, playing classics, rock ’n’ roll, and Spanish music. Lead singer (and Globe Councilmember) Mariano Gonzalez says versatility is key. “To survive as a band in this region, you have to play a little of everything,” he says. “We have good harmonies on every song.”

The Band Imagine plays Holy Angels Valentine’s Dinner and Dance on Feb. 14

What: Dance; prime rib or chicken dinner; plus cash bar, 50/50 raffle, dress festive

This year’s Valentine’s Day will present a rare chance to see popular hometown group The Band Imagine.

The six-piece band announced modified retirement plans late last year, making this Valentine’s event especially meaningful for longtime fans. Imagine has been a staple of the Globe-Miami music scene for years, appearing at First Fridays in Globe, Second Fridays at Bullion Plaza, local festivals, and private celebrations. They’re best known for their mix of cumbias, country, and classic rock.

When: Saturday, Feb. 14 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Appetizers at 5:30 p.m.
