MIAMI- The annual 4th of July Parade has moved to Miami this year which will become the new official home of the annual parade, according to the Celebration committee. Parade line-up starts at 7 a.m. at Bullion Plaza. At 9:15 a.m., the parade will begin from there, traveling eastbound on Sullivan Street to the old YMCA building.
Opening ceremonies at Miami Veterans Park will include a performance by the Celebration Band Orchestra at 8 a.m. Once opening ceremonies have concluded, the band will continue to perform throughout the parade. Stephen Palmer will be the event’s emcee.
At 8:40 a.m., the American Legion Riders will provide the flag escort from Bullion Plaza to the park at 8:40 a.m.
In addition, the Globe High School JROTC Color Guard will post the flag at 8:45 a.m., followed by the invocation by Pastor Barry Schwenk and Lori Abeyta’s performance of the national anthem.
After a welcome by the mayor or designate, the Copper Cities Players will perform the patriotic play, “Council of Patriots Past” in the park at 9 a.m.
Parade entry forms are available for both pick up and drop off at the Globe-Miami Chamber of Commerce. Fees are $10 and go to benefit the Tri-City Fire Department’s charity for victims of home fires. Drop off your entry forms and fees by Tuesday, July 2.
Souvenir T-Shirts will be available with proceeds going to the Gila County Public Safety Memorial Fund.
