On April 22, the Globe Police Department held its awards ceremony to honor the department's highest achieving officers. Over 30 officers and staff members were recognized for their exemplary efforts displayed in 2025. Among the awards, a plaque with the names of those who showed commitment to public safety during the 2025 floods was presented and will be permanently hung at the station.
“Approximately two weeks prior to the flooding event, a little bit of divine intervention took place when we were contacted by the Arizona Rangers who wanted to meet and discuss a potential partnership. We met with Captain Brosius and Master Sergeant Jim Totonis and were impressed with what they had to offer. We agreed to begin the process of getting an MOU signed to be able to deploy them.
Before any legal reviews could occur, we experienced the flooding event. Even though no agreements were in place, we immediately received calls from Captain Brosius with the offer to deploy personnel to Globe to assist in any way that they could. We took them up on their offer with the hope that they would provide a couple of extra hands.
The Arizona Rangers blew those expectations out of the water and showed up in full force and continued to volunteer for a whole host of critical needs that we had, including numerous road closures and security details.
The Arizona Rangers remained for the long haul, well after the initial event, providing countless hours of volunteer work to the community. With deep gratitude and appreciation, we want to recognize the Arizona Rangers organization and present them with a Critical Incident Award for their response and support throughout that entire operation.”
— Chief Dale Walters, Globe Police Department
In return, the Arizona Rangers presented Chief Walters and the department with an award as well for their outstanding partnership and their dedicated service to their team and community.
