District 5 incumbent
My family has lived in Globe-Miami for four generations. I had a 26-year career in emergency management in Arizona. It helped me to be an effective councilman.
I drew upon my experience to provide high-level policy advice as we dealt with two major fires and three severe floods.
My training lent itself well to the planning aspects of improving our infrastructure and our economy.
I believe I still have a lot to offer as we begin the oversight of the long-term repair of our infrastructure and Pinal Creek. The challenge is to accomplish this and carry out our strategic planning.
District 5 candidate
I’m Matthew Storms and I want to be your councilman for District 5. I moved to Globe in 2013 to open my business.
I met my wife Shelbi here in 2017; we have three beautiful children and love living in Globe.
I’m running because I believe we can build a city government that listens to, supports and reflects the community it serves. I believe the city needs to refocus on its residents, small businesses and keeping families here. I know this can be accomplished with open dialogue, renewed investment in local infrastructure and public safety. Together, let’s move Globe forward.
District 4 incumbent
My name is Mike Stapleton. I was born in Indiana and moved to Tempe as a young teenager.
After a 30-year career with General Dynamics, I relocated to Globe after years of weekend visits where I quickly fell in love with the area and its people.
I later owned and operated a local small business until retiring in 2024. I have proudly served on the Globe City Council for 12 years, including 10 years as vice mayor.
I continue to run for council because I value serving the community and supporting Globe’s continued growth and success.
