Directional signs and maps will be installed around Globe and the Copper Circle within the next month thanks to a $55,000 grant received by Southern Gila County's Economic Development Corporation from the Freeport-McMoRan Foundation last June.
JR and Roberta Reynoso received the Empty to Awesome Award for opening their new restaurant J&R's Fine Mexican Food at the former Crestline Steakhouse on Ash Street.

The city approved Globe Police and Globe Fire's application for the Governor's Office of Highway Safety Grant. If awarded, the departments will use the grant money for equipment and training.
Adrea Ricke, Roberta "Bobbie" Ravenkamp, Pearl A. Nancarrow, Sherry Rice and Linda Oddonetto were appointed to Globe's Library Committee.
The council approved an EMT Training Program with Central Arizona College. The program will allow the college's students to ride with Globe Fire paramedics.
The council also approved an additional $12,260 granted to Tierra ROW for a second phase of title and research services regarding the lawsuit filed against the city by Arizona Water Company.
