Few projects give me greater satisfaction than producing the Annual Community Guide to Globe-Miami each year. It's a mini showcase of the businesses, industries and organizations that make our community tick and give us our vibe. And it comes out this week.
Our extended community includes our neighbors in Superior, San Carlos and Roosevelt Lake, and together the Guide presents a broad look at not only our mining operations, but the recreation and arts that round out life here. It's a tool used year-round — by companies recruiting workers, and by residents sharing their community with friends and family. It's a jumping-off point: a way to learn more, get connected to what interests you, and maybe discover something about Globe-Miami you didn't know before.
We ship the Guide to Chambers, Visitor Centers and destinations across the state, and we provide copies to municipalities and companies to take with them to statewide conferences — like the Governor's Conference on Tourism, or the League of Cities Conference this month.
To those who ask how our community is doing after last September's flooding, we say: we are strong, resilient, and recovering in ways you wouldn't believe. To those who wonder if we still mine here, we say: yes we do! Emphatically. Proudly. We're a powerhouse of mining operations, and this year's Guide devotes 14 pages to showcasing the companies leading the way.
As always, the Guide is a love letter to the place we call home; written by the people who live it every day. I hope it helps you see Globe-Miami the way we do.
