This photo of Peridot Mesa on the San Carlos Apache Reservation was taken last Thursday.
According to AZ Poppy Fest, “The yellow bladderpods are going to seed, but there are still patches of poppies, lupines, owls clover, pincushions, chicory and scorpion-weed.”
AZ Poppy Fest is an annual celebration of our region’s poppies and wildflowers, offering lowkey, outdoor botanical experiences, lectures, art and learning opportunities.
Typically, AZ Poppy Fest is during the month of April, but this year has offered a head start to start bloom-watching since poppies began blooming in January.
