The old Rainbow Flowers building on Broad Street had been on the market for a while before being purchased by partners David Huber and Christine Cirillo-Ching, who have transformed it into an upscale antique mall. The building’s high ceilings, natural light, and beadboard-lined booths lend it both charm and a sense of history.
The grand opening — delayed more than a month after September’s devastating floods — finally took place this week, and with November came progress and people ready to celebrate. Within the first hour, shoppers were already lining up at the counter to check out with treasures in hand. Guests were treated to pumpkin pie and invited to pick a lucky duck from a clawfoot tub as a lighthearted memento of the day.
Huber and Cirillo-Ching bring decades of experience in the antiques business. They have been able to attract quality dealers — both local and from the Valley — and fill the place with an array of items sure to please shoppers.
The two first met years ago in the Valley, where both were active in the antiques trade, and their friendship and shared passion for vintage finds eventually led to this joint venture. The pair says they feel fortunate to have found a place they can make their own — and believe this new shop will be good for them and for the community.
