BoxedUp Project: Helping kids thru difficult times

Presented by Milan | Distributed by Resolution Copper

A creative project turns simple boxes into source of comfort for kids going through difficult times. The brainstorm of Milan who lost her best friend at 6, the boxes include the children's book " The Rabbit Listened" reminding us all that talking or shouting to make things better is not as effective as sitting with a person who is struggling.

The boxes also include "Comfort Cards" which help kids unpack grief and remember its OK to take time for themselves, and small steps and remember to breathe.

The boxes themselves are colorful, whimsical and engaging.

Milan reminds kids that "there will always be difficult days, but her wish is that these boxes help a child find healing."

"When my friend died, I kept all my feelings boxed up inside of me. I know now that isn't the healthy way to grieve and heal."

Thanks to the support of Resolution Copper, these boxes are finding their way into schools, crisis centers and most recently were distributed by Bryan Seppala at Cobre Valley Youth Club and the Chamber of Commerce.

The BoxedUp Project is about making art accessible and acknowledging the healing qualities of sharing stories and listening to each other.
