State Arts Commissioners to Visit Globe – Community Invited to Celebrate and Engage  

Globe, AZ – February 24, 2025 – The Arizona Commission on the Arts (ACA) is bringing its quarterly meeting to Globe on March 21-22, 2025, offering the community a unique opportunity to connect with state arts leaders, celebrate local creativity, and contribute to the future of the arts in Arizona. The Commission meets four times a year and has chosen Globe as the host city for its March gathering, highlighting the region’s vibrant arts scene and community contributions.  

 

The Arizona Commission on the Arts is a statewide organization dedicated to supporting artists, arts organizations, and creative communities through funding, resources, and advocacy. Among its distinguished members is Regina Ortega-Leonardi, a native Globite, local arts advocate, and co-leader of the nonprofit Love Where You Live. Appointed to the Commission by Governor Katie Hobbs in August 2023, Ortega-Leonardi proudly supports arts and culture in rural Arizona. 

 

Public Events on Friday, March 21st, 2025  

The community is invited to participate in two key events on Friday, March 21st, designed to foster connection, collaboration, and celebration:  

1. Quarterly Meeting  

   Location: Cobre Valley Center for the Arts  

   Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM  

Attend the Arizona Commission on the Arts’ quarterly meeting to learn about statewide arts initiatives, funding opportunities, and strategies to support local arts communities. This is a chance for residents, artists, and arts supporters to engage directly with the Commission, share their perspectives, and gain valuable insights into how the arts are being advanced across Arizona.  

 

2. Community Reception  

   Location: 1916 Train Depot  

   Time: 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM  

Following the meeting, join commissioners, local artists, and arts advocates for a special community reception. Enjoy delicious appetizers provided by Vida E Café while networking and celebrating Globe’s thriving arts scene. This event is an excellent opportunity to build connections, exchange ideas, and showcase the creativity that makes Globe a cultural hub in rural Arizona.
