While the Orion spacecraft launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida yesterday morning, 20 kids built and launched their own rockets at Globe Public Library, thanks to a little help from Globe’s TigeRobotics team. The 20 kids, grades K to 6, are part of the newly-formed STEM club in Globe funded by the Arizona Center for Afterschool Excellence. The group came together yesterday to participate in Rockets to the Rescue!, the University of Arizona’s 2014 National Science Experiment.
Up next on the STEM club’s agenda: tank races and model airplanes.
Check out our photos below from yesterday’s build and launch session.
