Palmer Report – Happy New Year!!!

It is time to pull our old resolutions off the shelf. We pick our favorite one and dust it off. “This year” I am going to work out more, eat less, go back to school, get that promotion, find inner peace, etc. We all have our own ideas on New Year’s resolutions. We can make a list or stick to one. The trick is not what you say or write down, the challenge is in our actions from that day forward. It does not require a New Year celebration to change but this winter holiday serves as a reminder to us all that we can always begin again. Now get out of the house and come together with your community this New Year’s Eve.

Two Lanes Rocks the East Side

Two Lanes Saloon is located just north of Highway 60 on the east side of Globe, Arizona. The bar is open daily with both drinks and finger foods. This Thursday Two Lanes will be celebrating New Year’s Eve with Mighty Bison. The band starts at 9pm and plays well through the New Year. Two Lanes has two pool tables, a jute box and a warm outdoor patio. The staff is friendly and accessible throughout the bar as well as outside. Make sure to check their calendar for upcoming events.

Jammerz offers free Shuttle and Live Music

Jammerz Bar is located on Broad Street in Downtown Globe, Arizona. As you can tell from the name Jammerz specializes in live music. This New Year’s Eve they will be celebrating with County Line. County Line is a well established country band out of Safford, Arizona. The party will start at 9pm. With a stroke of genius Jean and Sara have decided to offer a free shuttle service, only at Jammerz. In the bar you will find a friendly atmosphere and a staff that is easy to find straight away. They have a pool table and an online jute box. The two projection televisions are nice as well. The big kicker about Jammerz is the outdoor stage. There is a small lawn to dance or lay on with fire places lined throughout the seating to keep one warm on chilly nights. Be sure to check the walls for upcoming event fliers as there are plenty of bands to see at this venue.

DJ Matt D at the Drift Inn Saloon

If the live band scene is not your thing this may be the place for you. The Drift Inn Saloon is located on Broad Street in Downtown Globe as well. The atmosphere of the Drift is more like that of a club than a bar, on weekends and holidays that is. This year DJ Matt D will be layin it down with DJ Sidekick as they pump up the crowd for an explosive New Year’s Eve Party at the Drift Inn Saloon.

New Year After Party

For those of you that have to work or have family obligations for New Year’s Eve, there is still hope. Saturday, January 2nd Stephen Palmer and Zenada Webb host Farley’s Open Mic Night. This is the chance for those who missed the big party to come and have a nice evening with good friends, quality beer and an amazing bar keep in Miss Stacy. Farley’s Pub has a nice calm atmosphere that only gets rowdy as the crowd sings or humms along. It is a nice place to escape the loud noise of the usual bar scene.
