Palmer Report August 19th – 25th

In case you had forgotten what an Arizona summer felt like, mother nature provided a wonderful heat wave as a reminder. This has caused a lot of us to shut ourselves off and plug in to the comforts of an air conditioned room. This weekend provides a few opportunities to re-awaken the adventurous spirit of summer. From sunrise to sunset, Globe-Miami has something to offer you this weekend.

Round Mountain Park

Most of the locals have already hiked Round Mountain Park. It is probably the most used hiking trail in the Globe-Miami area. Round Mountain Park offers hiking trails from beginner to intermediate in difficulty. Head out early for a sunrise run or take the kids in the evening for a sunset stroll. The most important thing to remember is water. You can not bring enough water with you when  you are hiking in Arizona. With that in mind, Round Mountain Park is a multiple trail park with hikes ranging from 20 minutes to 2 hours. The trails are very accessible and there is plenty of parking. Round Mountain Park is located on Round Mountain Road on the corner of Maple and South Street.
