Nominations for Citizen of the Year/Kip Culver Award now open

The Globe Miami Chamber recently announced that letters of nomination for the annual Citizen of the Year and the Kip Culver awards are now open. Deadline for submissions is January 12th and winners will be announced at the awards dinner on January 20th.

The Kip Culver award recognizes work within the arena of arts and/or historic preservation in the Globe-Miami area as Kip was especially passionate about both.  For this award, judging criteria is based on the type and depth of work benefiting the arts community and/or historic preservation programs in Globe-Miami.

The Citizen of the Year award recognizes long time community service in a variety of civic and community areas.

Once again , the chamber is partnering with the Pinal Mountain Foundation for Higher Education for their annual art auction. The evening will begin at 5 pm at Dream Manor Inn with no-host social hour, followed by a sit-down dinner.

Rather than a speaker, the dinner program will consist of announcement of award winners by the chamber. Following that, the college foundation will move into its annual event with live and silent auction items up for bid, with proceeds to go to scholarships at the Gila Community College.

Tickets for the dinner are $35 a person and reservations can be made through the chamber at 425-4495.

Letters of nomination may be mailed or dropped off to the chamber, 1360 N. Broad Street, Globe. Letters should explain in detail the work done by the nominee. Nomination letters are due by 5 pm Thursday, Jan. 12 at the chamber. For more information on the dinner or how to make nomination, please contact the chamber at 425-4495 or email director@globemiamichamber.com.
