Press Release: Education, Common Core Standards
This coming Monday, High Desert Middle School will be hosting a program from Expect More Arizona about Arizona’s College & career Ready standards .
Parents, business leaders and the community is invited to attend.
These new education standards will impact everyone in Arizona – parents and families, business leaders, and communities across the state.
Arizona’s College and Career Ready Standards are being implemented in schools throughout the state to help prepare our kids for the future. Academic standards define what students learn and what they need to know by the end of each grade to be successful in the next. When you know what your child will be learning in the classroom, yo and your child’s teacher can work together to identifiy when your child needs extra help or a greater challenge.
Come learn about how these new standards are different than the previous standards in Arizona and how to ensure your child is on track to be able to graduate high school prepared for college, career and life. These more rigorous standards will help all students have the knowledge and skills they need in English and math by encouraging the development of critical-thinking, problem-solving and effective communication skills.
