Telling their stories: MAX media comes to San Carlos

This month we are featuring a video clip from the The Tiziano Project  who came to San Carlos two years ago along with MAX: Media Arts Exchange, to teach an arts program that showed kids how to use the tools of “New Media” (digital photography, video and digital graphics) to tell a story. Their stories.

On their website, The Tiziano Project says they want to”… work through the betterment of the human condition – one story at a time – by creating jobs and providing educational opportunities in forgotten parts of the world.” They and MAX: Media put tools into the hands of kids who might not have access otherwise, teach them how to craft stories and produce 

They believe that “…by teaching students how to tell and distribute their stories through new media, they are empowering them to produce first hand narratives of their lives and to shape the world’s perception of their culture and conditions.”

The workshop focused on teaching kids how to tell their stories through the medium of today’s storytellers using photography, music, video and voice overs to produce short 2 minute stories.

 The results were impressive.
