The 1st annual Globe Photography Workshop hosted by Globe Miami Times was held on April 19,20 and 21st of this year and featured eight shooting locations and a half dozen models. The workshop was designed to offer up some of Globe’s unique locations which help to define this area and make them accessible to photographers. These included the second floor of the old Post Office, which was built in 1916, the interiors of two of Globe’s most historic churches; the Episcopal church on Oak and Holy Angels church on Broad street, plus a morning spent at the Adobe Ranch owned by Jill and Joe Wilson. We had photographers attended, with the majority from the Fountain Hills Camera club who had initiated the idea of a workshop earlier in the year. The workshop began on Friday afternoon with check in at The Chrysocolla Inn, an 1800’s restored boarding house once said to have been owned by Big Nosed Kate and wrapped up on Sunday morning shooting on location at Chrysocolla which offers rich interior and exterior locations for shooting.
Saturday morning the group was up early to head out to the ranch and for many this was the favorite location of the three days. Suggestions to include more ranch and live action are being considered for a Fall Workshop or next Spring’s 2nd Annual event!
Our thanks to models Lucinda and Bradley, Lyndon, Lily, Marie, Jason and Alec for providing their time and talent!
