Hill Street Mall *FABRICS in Quilt Shop & Fabrics
383 South Broad Street
Globe, AZ 85501
928-425-0022
The Fabric Booth of the Hill Street Mall reminds us of the old notion counters of yesteryear- bolts and bolts of bright, cheery fabrics stacked to the rafters. Flannels and cottons and plaids, oh my.
Glass jars of colorful vintage buttons and rolls of lace sit side-by-side with squares of patterned fat quarters and original cellophane packets of Ric-Rack. Whether you're looking to upholster Grandma's footstool, whip up a designer dress that has 'me' written all over it, or create a one-of-a-kind quilt, you'll find all this and more at the Hill Street Mall.
Stop on by and get aquainted- you'll be glad you did!

Frank Balaam is a technically trained artist who graduated from the Edinburgh Colleges of Art in England. He has traveled the world extensively and painted in a range of styles and mediums from still lives in Italy to hand painted post cards of the Golden Gate Bridge and abstract expressionist paintings on Hyde Park Corner in London. He received the highest award in the National Exhibition for Peace and had solo exhibitions of a series titled "Arizona Centarians" which was commissioned by the State of Arizona. Both exhibitions traveled nationally from 1987 through 1990 to New York, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Flagstaff, Tucson and Phoenix. His portraits of homeless people were serialized in 30 editions of the Grapevine newspaper and have been used as fund-raisers for homeless shelters.
After moving to Globe, AZ he started Angelas World, an arts program for developmentally disabled, located in the basement of the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts, Globe, AZ. Working with the limited skills of the residents, he created a process which produced folk art pieces and employed up to 80 people at its height.
He held the position of President of the Fine Art Guild for the Center for the Arts in 1999 and Managing Director of the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts in 2001.
His ribbon-like images have been purchased by the estates of Jerry Garcia, Janis Joplin, Bob Marley and Carlos Santana. And he has commissioned pieces hanging in most of the major universities and galleries throughout Arizona and Oregon. His work can be seen locally at The Blue Mule Gallery, Pickle Barrel Trading Post, Weavers Gallery, Cobre Valley Center for the Arts.

Using a unique "yoga table", we combine the two ancient practices of yoga and massage to provide great relief for most imbalances. Both improve all physiological systems, resulting in beneficial changes for the mental and emotional state as well. Lymphatic massage clears congestion and improves immune function. Orthopedic massage tailors advanced body work techniques for greater structural balance. Specific suggested yoga stretches empower the client to surpass limitations. Healing stones are heated and strategically used to enhance a session. Reflexology stimulates reflex points and recalibrates the nervous system.
