Palmer Report February 3rd

Put your favorite record on and kick back for another week of what is going down in Globe-Miami town. I know most of you do not have a record or record player so selecting your favorite playlist on your personal computing device works just fine. We have massive sports action this week with basketball and hockey in full swing as well as that one game, you know, the Super Bowl. Yes, that is this weekend and yes; I know what you are thinking, half time commercials!

Taste of the Week

China Taste is your classic Chinese buffet. All you can eat for a reasonable price and ice cream for dessert. The buffet is fair sized serving a mix of Chinese food as well as some American food. The options of ordering off the dine in menu are also available. China Taste is located just off Highway 60 and Hill Street by the Globe High School. There is no need to make a reservation as there is plenty of seating.  If you wish to have a birthday party dinner or meet with a large group all it takes is a simple phone call and they will accomedate your party with ease.

Market Must Stop

Top Notch Ink  is located on Highway 60 just east of Main Street in Central Heights.  Carlos Alvarez is the owner as well as the main tattoo artist at this location. Top Notch Ink is a tattoo parlor out of Twenty Nine Palms California. The location here in west Globe is technically Top Notch Ink 2. Due to back and forth traveling the shop is not open everyday but appointments may be made by calling (760) 217-2937. Carlos has been tattooing professionally for a long time and has quite an extensive portfolio from black and grey to realism portraits and old school color. This location also has men’s and women’s clothing available as well.

Open Mic @ Two Lanes Saloon

Aaron Zufelt hosts an open mic event at Humphrey’s Two Lanes Saloon on Thursday February 4th. Come out and showcase your talent. Whether it is playing guitar and singing, playing guitar, singing or spoken word poetry. Any type of entertainment and all walks of life are welcome to come and enjoy the arts. Two Lanes serves up cold drinks as well as delicious foods from the deep fryer. With TV’s inside and out this is also a great place to hang out for Superbowl 50.

The past has no power over the present moment.

Aaron has been playing guitar and writing songs for as long as he can remember. Which on some days, may not be very far back. He keeps himself busy hosting open mics and jam nights at the local bars. His recent projects have been Sinthetic and Mighty Bison. However, he is mostly known as a current and founding member of the recent Gila County Battle of the Band winners Howlin Booty and the Blue Mountain Band. You can catch Aaron at Two Lanes this Thursday and Farley’s Pub next Saturday night for open mic.
