Palmer Report December 2nd- 8th

Now that we have all eaten the biggest meal of the year it is time to get out of the house and burn off a few of those calories. With the winter weather in the air this may be easier said than done. Where there is a will there is a way and I have found a couple of events this week that just might spark a little will, or possibly an itch to try a new hobby.

Julie’s Quilt Shop

On the corner of Inspiration Avenue and Sullivan Street in Miami you will find Julie’s Sewing Corner and Quilt Shop. Whether you are looking to buy a quilt or the fabric to make your own this is the destination for you. The shop is open daily from 10-5pm and has everything you will need to sew, make new or mend clothing. The beautiful hand made quilts are a perfect holiday gift idea. Julie’s Shop even offers sewing machine repair.

Keystone Stairs

Wondering the streets of downtown Miami can be quite a history lesson. One of the towns treasured walks is up or down the Keystone Stairs. Located just north of Sullivan Street at the end of Keystone Avenue the Keystone Stairs were built so the miners could walk from their homes and up the hill to work at the mine. Click Here for a map. There are several sets of stairs around the town of Miami. One set is at the base of Adonis Avenue and another is just up the road on Forrest Avenue.

Copper City Comedy

The good old gang at Comedy on Fire out of Phoenix is happy to bring their flavor of comedy to our lowly small town crowd. The Wild Horses Saloon will host Copper City Comedy 2 on Saturday December 5th starting at 8pm. The line up will include 9 different value comedians who are sure to tickle that funny bone. After the comedy show you will be blessed with live music by Low Expectations. This is sure to be a night to remember.
