Barriers arrive in Globe to protect hospital from potential flooding.

GLOBE-  On Thursday of this week, the Arizona Department of Transportation began transporting Jersey Barriers to Globe from Coconino County to help Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center.

Each piece of barrier is 32” tall, 20’ long, and weighs 4 tons. The City of Globe has requested 40 barriers – 320,000 total pounds of barrier. ADOT is charging just $1 per barrier.

Due to their mass; only 4 can be delivered per truck-load over the 200 mile journey from Coconino to CVRMC.
